Sea Defence
Protecting our environment and defending natures energy
Sea defence is an essential part of safeguarding the natural coastline to prevent further erosion or subsequent flooding.
We have undertaken a wide range of sea defence projects around the UK’s natural coastline, including major beach replenishment works, sand movement and groyne demolition, re-construction of rock groynes and large-scale rock revetment works.
During the construction process, we have used some of our larger machines which additionally required the use of specialist equipment including long-reach excavators, bespoke rock grabs and GPS-equipped machinery.
We are dedicated to providing a reliable service that keeps projects running to programme and budget. Customers can rest assured that projects are completed by trained and experienced staff who make sure they are undertaken safely and with minimal disruption to the natural environment.

Sea Defence Trials
The nature of the sea can be harsh and unpredictable which is why sea defence trials play an important role in fortifying natural coastlines. Our qualified team of experts and our own fleet of managed machinery are able to trial groynes before laying rocks down. The coastline is then monitored to see how it reacts with the geobags and, in the event of a successful trial, a more permanent sea defence solution can then be installed.
